Alex and Ani is entering fantasy licensing with a jewelry collection tied to Sarah J. Maas’ viral “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” beginning with a Night Court-inspired drop that was released on Thursday.
The launch reflects how the series has moved well beyond publishing into broader consumer culture, driven in part by BookTok, fan art and online fandom. Through a licensing partnership handled by IMG Licensing, Alex and Ani is turning characters, symbols and settings from Prythian into a line of collectible jewelry.
The first release includes eight pieces, with designs that reference the Night Court’s imagery through celestial shapes, wing-like details, lockets and engraving. The brand says the collection draws on themes of power, bravery and love, while staying close to the symbolic style it uses across its own products.

“When we partnered with Sarah J. Maas to create the very first ACOTAR jewelry collection, a dream became reality. As a devoted admirer of the series, designing each piece felt like walking the paths of Prythian itself. Beloved characters and cherished fan-favorite moments are reimagined as enchanting, everyday keepsakes for all my fellow dreamers and romantics out there,” Marielle Holland, associate designer at Alex and Ani, told WWD.
In a statement, Alex and Ani’s chief executive officer Prita Kumar said the collaboration is meant to capture how fans connect with the series. “The connection fans have with A Court of Thorns and Roses goes far beyond the page — it’s about identity, empowerment, and belonging,” she said. “At Alex and Ani, we believe jewelry should hold meaning and express individuality. This collaboration brings those stories to life through pieces fans can wear as powerful expressions of the worlds and characters that become part of who they are.”
The collection marks the start of a longer partnership between the two sides, with more story-based drops planned later this year. For Alex and Ani, the deal extends a licensing strategy that has long included properties such as “Harry Potter,” Barbie and “The Wizard of Oz.”
The first ACOTAR x Alex and Ani collection will be sold exclusively on alexandani.com.
